I hope Clemens realizes how obvious he sounds. He doesn't want to play, yet states he'll play possibly if an injury happens. He said he doesn't want teams waiting on his decision that he doesn't want to play, but despite not wanting to play he gives it a 20% shot. I think what this equates out to is that Clemens only wants to play 80% of the season, once a team gets desperate enough to pay him 20 million dollars. I imagine he already has his voodoo dolls ready to strike an injury down on one of the Yankees starters.

Actually, the voodoo dolls without pins in them are quite useful for Carl Pavano... he can sit on them as he recovers from another left buttocks injury. I mean with the cash Clemens gets, he gets the super deluxe plush voodoo dolls, great for sitting.

I think that he will play one more year for the Yankees then retire. It seems almost certain to me.

Update on the Clemens story.

While at Wednesday's Yankees game, free agent Roger Clemens indicated he could decide on his future in early May.
Clemens didn't sound like someone who is 80/20 leaning towards retirement. Odds are that he'll choose to join the Astros, Yankees or Red Sox for the final four months of the season.
