From what I saw the Phillies wanted the top prospect, and were not going to help pay any of the salary.
Not that it will ever happen, but I will laugh if Fat Joe Blanton goes on to win his personal second World Series with us, while Cliff Lee is sitting at home in October, still ringless.
Dodgers and Giants are definitely scary in a short series. Especially if one of the hitters goes on a tear.

The article says after LA put in claim the Phillies took him off waivers. Gm says they aren't trading him anyway..
Story of the Dodgers. When Halladay and Lee were available for trade or free agency, the owner(s) had "no money". Now that ownership does have money, they can't find anybody to give away money so Yasiel Puig gets a $40 million contract.
Well, I hope the Phillies are happy that they held on to Lee too long and now his trade value is zero.
