Only losers and small market wannabes worry about draft picks. The Lakers haven't made a successful draft pick since Eddie Jones and they turned out fine, haven't they?

Which is the entire point I originally made? If we're not going take risks and/or be big spenders anymore, then we need to be able to develop a farm. And considering how Free Agency is trending these days with who gets to the market when, we may still need to do as such.

If we still planned on churning out 230MM payrolls, downside on risk be damned, I wouldn't care as much. Though I think baseball economics are changing a bit.
