Uribe would be a good option for you guys. You guys drove up the price on Huff, looks like more of the same.

ugh, I'm fully expecting Juan Uribe's fatass to be Andruw Jones redux.

Three ****ing years for a human windmill strikeout machine whose career OBP is .300, even after coming off a "banner" year in which he hit just .248 with a .310 OBP.

MikeSciosciasTI If Garland hits his 2012 option (and he will), Dodgers just committed $35-$38m to Uribe/Garland. That's 95% of buying Adam Dunn, no?

I hate Ned Colletti. I can see it already: Omar Infante for 2012

So much verbiage fail in one Dodgers.com article.
Dodgers near deal with infielder Uribe | dodgers.com: News

"a needed veteran power bat", "clutch production", "didn't tail off when it mattered -- specifically, the Giants' championship run -- driving in nine runs with only six hits in the postseason."
He hit .149 in the playoffs, you jackass!

"highest fielding percentage in the league at the position"

Look, I think Uribe will do the Dodgers well next year but beyond that I'm not so sure. He is definitely better than every guy the Dodgers tried to plus in at second last year.

Ya..that sounds real encouraging. I have a feeling that beyond next year I'll be looking back at this photo with the caption "Uribe and Colletti in happier times" in mind.

More bullshit from Ken Gurnick of Dodgers.com : Dodgers nearly done with holiday shopping | dodgers.com: News

"already resolved most of the team's needs"
"rebuilt the starting rotation" -- by bringing the same pitchers back save for Garland replacing Padilla
"resolved the uncertainty behind the plate" -- by paying Rod Barajas too much money not to have him starting

    ksoebaen wrote:
Nearly done??? when did he start? he continued to sign 35+ players to huge inflated contracts and has rasied the teams payroll by 20 mil whiile essentially bringing back the same team. Where is any upgrade at all?
    Alec_E wrote:
Gurnick is the joke. He never has any true insight to the club and is obviously just the "water boy" for the Dodgers. His articles are bland and are often wrong because the club uses him to distribute the stories they prefer. Wouldn't it be nice for the team reporter to question why Dodger management believes it's OK to run a platoon into LF for the club in the second largest media market and with a consistent top 3 attendance record within the league?

Is it a matter of time before Jose Guillen appears on Ned's radar?

Yes he is, but to quote Rick Reilly, "that new level is Dreadful, just up from Suck."

True, although his interview with Sammy Sosa almost makes up for it.

HAHA When he cornered him and pressured him to take a piss test when he knew Sammy would be breaking the player's union rules? Yeah, he's a real class act.
