Royals Big Blow to the Farm!

Royals prospect left-hander John Lamb will undergo Tommy John surgery Friday.
The surgery will be performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum in Los Angeles. Lamb, 20, was ranked as the No. 18 prospect in the game by Baseball America coming into the season. The southpaw had a legitimate chance to reach the majors before the end of the season, but now he'll be sidelined until the early part of 2012. Hopefully it's just a speed bump in a still promising career.
Bummer!! Never good to see a top 20 prospect go down to injury like that. Good news is he is only 20 and hopefully for the Royals sake will be back to form.

This is obviously not the news that the Royals wanted to hear, but as you said, he is young and should recover. I hope to see him back in good form in a couple of seasons.

This will set him back a few years until he gets to the majors, but since he is a top 20 prospect he should be able to get back to that form by the age of 22 or 23 and be just about ready to go shortly after that.
