Maybin was just rushed. He is only 22 and he really needs some time at AAA to work on pitch recognition as the talent is there, the capability to hit at this level however hasn't yet developed.

And I get keeping Bonifacio, who gives the Marlins a lot more position depth than Maybin does (not to mention Maybe looks like a deer caught in the headlights of late.)

Andrew Miller was awful before being placed on the DL, and Maybin has yet to learn how to hit at this level. I understand Loria was never going to pay the money that franchise player Miguel Cabrera commanded, but that trade is not looking like it will net the Marlins a quality player to build around.

It sure is looking like a terrible trade now. Miller and Maybin are young enough to turn things around though.
