Middle: Jasper Huck
Middle: Alfred Neicase
Setup: Eric Brooks
Closer: Kevin McLellan

The lineup is going to be average at best. I think it needs a table setter and a power hitter that can hit both LH and RH. The bench will be good as usual (even with the loss of Ito, who has been vital off the bench the last 2 years). Ibanez returns home to align with 3-time Cy Young winner Thomas Bonney to solidify a rotation that was thin last season. The bullpen is boom or bust after McLellan.

Thoughts on this team would be helpful.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that Roy Oswalt threw a bullpen session for the Phillies last week and the RedSox this week near his home in Mississippi.
One source told Rosenthal that Oswalt "appeared to be in good shape" but was "more in spring-training mode than mid-season form," which is not surprising. Assuming Vance Worley's elbow injury is indeed minor as the Phillies have said, it would appear that the Red Sox would be a better fit for the veteran right-hander. But, Oswalt might prefer the familiarity with the Phillies. He figures to be pitching for someone around the All-Star break.

Red Sox definitely need a positive boost after their slow start which was in part because of their pitching. They seem the most desperate but Oswalt would most definitely prefer Philly.

Sucks to see a 34 year old retire early like this, especially someone so beloved in Chicago. I have friends that are huge Cubs fans and their facebook pages have already become tributes to Wood. The former ROY earned just under $71 million in his 14 season career. I'll never forget that 20 K game he threw and is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear his name. I'm sure he will find a cushy job somewhere in the Cubs organization.

 Padres released 2B Orlando Hudson.
ESPN's Keith Law first reported that Hudson was designated for assignment, but the Padres have actually requested release waivers, which is a mere formality before he can sign with any team. The 34-year-old was a massive disappointment during his time in San Diego, batting just .238/.313/.344 with a .657 OPS over 585 plate appearances. However, we're sure somebody will take a chance on him at the major league minimum. Alexi Amarista has been called up from Triple-A and should get most of the playing time at second base moving forward.

He's lost a step defensively and two steps offensively. I guarantee the Giants pick him up.

The site is uploaded.

These rules are pulled right from the FAQ. I have no offers for this round.

The open teams are set to CPU. The CPU will make offers for those 5 teams. I did up the human limits due to the CPU making offers. The CPU teams will be on CPU for only the 1st day of each period so they can't make multiple offers in a given period.

Period 2 will be 10 days.

1) All offers must be sent to me through PM in the following format:

Team-Offers-Pos-Name-Years-Amount-Per Year
Ex: Rangers offer SS-Michael Young 5 Years @ $5,000,000 Per Year

2) I will accept offers on a maximum of 20 different players per team. You can bid on all 20 players at once if you want. If you are outbid, then you will be able to bid on a different player instead. If you are outbid on a player, then you are allowed to re-bid on that player and it will not count against your total offers. These 20 players will span all 3 free agent periods.

3) Offers received after the stated end time will not be accepted.

4) You cannot change your offer once it has been submitted. You can bid again however if you feel it may not be high enough.

5) Any player signed to a major league contract during FA will not be eligible to be traded until July 1st. Any trades sent in involving those players before that time will be ignored.

6) Trading during Free Agency is allowed but you are responsible for your own FA money situation.

7) If a player does not like the offering team, I will inform the GM via PM and he will be able to bid on another player assuming there is enough time for me to do so.

8) You can retract your offer on a player, but he will most likely not listen to any more offers from you for the rest of free agency.

Financial Rules
1) Each team will be able to spend what your financial page allows during the entire FA signing periods.

2) If you want to offer $10 million or more on a certain player, you are limited to 3 of those types of offers. One of them can be between $10-$15 million, one of them can be between $15-$18 mil, and one can be up to $24 million. All 3 offers can be $10-$15 million.

Note: This will be blind bidding. I will load all the offers as soon as I can before the end of the period and then post the signings in this thread. The site will be fully uploaded after all periods so you can see the signings and your team pages.

Sucks that someone has to get fired for the failure of the players but maybe it was just time. Francona won two WS with the Red Sox and had to go. I don't see this doing anything for the Angels offense who is missing it's starting catcher and Pujols getting away from what made him successful. MLB Network did a great breakdown on how his mechanics are way off but Pujols has shown no signs of going back to his old, successful ways.
