Adam Rosales

This is a discussion on Adam Rosales within the Cincinnati Reds forum; What is up with this guy? I caught the highlight of his first major league home run the other day ...

Re: Adam Rosales

That's just the way he plays. In the majors, the minors, spring training, wherever. He hustles to the point where his teammates call him "Petey" Rosales. If he wants a quick path to love in Cincinnati (that doesn't involve back alleys) scrappy play and hustle is the way to go.

Re: Adam Rosales

He is purely hilarious, I'm not sure he really knows how to run either, it always looks like he has a limp in his step or something. He has been a big spark plug in the reds offense though filling in for Edwin despite his lackluster defense.

Re: Adam Rosales

I love it because that's how I used to run after I hit a homerun. I didn't want to allow the pitcher a chance to get it out of his head and wanted the next batter up to jump on him as quick as possible. I also ran to first after a walk like Pete Rose and Joe Thurston.

Re: Adam Rosales

I watched him a couple of times in AAA when they came to Richmond last year and he was sprinting on homers and walks. That is just how he is, expect more to come. It isn't a "show" as the fellas on PTI were talking about yesterday.

Re: Adam Rosales

**** the guys on PTI. This guy learned how to play the right way and stuck with it. Hardly see a show in that. If anything, he's an actual role model for baseball.

Re: Adam Rosales

Dan Murphy also runs the bases, but not as fast as Rosales. To me, it's not a bad thing, it's actually a sign that the guy is above all the showboating that other guys do.

Re: Adam Rosales

Its definitely a way for players to get some extra notice, but I don't believe at all that Rosales is doing it solely to put on a show. He is a classic case of a baseball player who doesn't have quite the athletic talents of other players so he works extra hard in every facet that he can to make up for it. We all know people like that in our lives, he just does on the basepaths in front of thousands of fans.

Wow, LTR, he learned to play it the right way early on? Narron must have been his manager.
