Dale Sveum - New Cubs Manager

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Brewers hitting coach Dale Sveum has accepted an offer to be the next manager of the Chicago Cubs, according to multiple league sources, with only some final details needing to be worked out before the deal is finalized.

Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer were seen walking into Sveum's hotel on Thursday afternoon. They emerged an hour later, walking with Sveum out of the hotel and into a waiting car.

Epstein would not confirm the deal, saying only "we're going to lunch."

Sveum was also a candidate for the Boston Red Sox' managerial vacancy.

True but at least I knew a little about Francona. All I knew about Sveum is that he got passed over for the Brewers job and that I have like 100 of his baseball cards.
