What are you talking about? What exactly can the Dodgers do as well or better? Why would it be only specific to the Dodgers that would be able to do it? You quoted about draft spending the Dominican complex. Could the Dodgers spend more? Of course, but so could the Royals. What matters is actually doing it. While I'd love Andrew Friedman to be involved with the Cubs. Why would I want Mark Cuban? Tom Ricketts is better at baseball. There's not one thing I'd change about what he's done. Cuban said if he bought the Cubs he wouldn't spend a lot of money. That he only had to worry about out spending teams like the Mets and Cards. I never heard him talk about player development. Ricketts has stressed that since day one.

It makes sense that fans of every other team in the NL are rooting for McCourt to retain our team so they don't have to compete against the 2nd largest market in the league.
Again I wouldn't change a single thing that Ricketts is done. He's spending money in all the right places. He's building a great foundation for an organization. Most importantly he put together a great front office this off-season.

Does it bother you the Cubs are working on a massive turnaround while the Dodgers keep on keeping on. LA is the 2nd largest market in size. Outside of the Lakers lets not pretend it's a great sports city. They couldn't keep the Rams or the Raiders. Chicago is a better sports city.

The Royals don't a history of international signings such as Roberto Clemente, Fernando Valenzuela, Pedro Guerrero, Pedro Martinez, Adrian Beltre, Raul Mondesi, Hideo Nomo, and Chan Ho Park. Granted, the recent ownerships of the Dodgers have allow the team to lag behind other teams, but no knowledgeable baseball fan can deny that the Dodgers under the O'Malleys dominated that area of scouting and player development. You talk about the Cubs building a new Dominican complex. Well, Campo Las Palmas set the standard for the rest of the league's baseball academies in the D.R. that followed.

Are we talking about football or baseball here? Sure, LA in general may not be passionate about all its sports teams, but the Dodgers are right up there with the Lakers. The Lakers just stand out more because of its championship success and all the bandwagoners it attracts.

You're the one saying there's nothing the Cubs are doing that the Dodgers couldn't do better. Which doesn't make sense because the Cubs are actually doing it, and you act as if the Cubs don't have the same large market resources.

You still haven't told me what the Dodgers are capable of doing a lot better than the Cubs.

No, no one cares. The Dodgers current problems have nothing to do with McCourt.

For an organization that admittedly lately hasn't acted like they have large market resources in declining to bid on the best 16-year old Latin phenoms, to still turn up Carlos Santana, Kenley Jansen, and Rubby de la Rosa means that their Latin operations must be doing some things right, even if their ignorant GM ends up giving them away, namely, Santana.

Cuban infielder Alexander Guerrero close to $32 million contract with Dodgers | HardballTalk

Plus, there's that Puig guy who's doing some things this year.

Not sure what your point is?

Also since we started this thread. The Cubs have become insanely stacked. They have the best collection of bats in the entire minor leagues. Javier Baez looks like he could be an absolute superstar.

The Cubs were very aggressive in the international market, and got a lot of the top guys. The Dodgers got the guy they wanted. So....?

Don't worry about that guy. He won't be around for a while.
