when posting reply

here's just an idea, something for you guys to roll around.

i'm a member on another forum (no, not another baseball one) and they have it setup where when you reply to a post on a thread, the previous 3-5 posts are underneath the text input box, so you can see what exactly the previous couple of users said so you don't misquote something. it's really handy, maybe something you guys could work into your system.

ok, so when you click on "post reply" below the post you are replying to, it sends you to a new page with the text box and you input your reply. well, on this other forum, below the text box (like where the team logos are on this forum), there's the previous posts from the thread that you are replying to.

I'm a forum that does that, I never pay attention to the other post. Only time I need to see what someone put, is if I'm quoting it. If I'm quoting it, it's in the text box. That's just me, I'm sure others would like that idea.

Ok, I get it now. I have seen forums like that as well. Sounds like an easy hack, but I am not sure if it would effect the layout in any way.

I don't follow. When I click Post Reply, I am brought to the new screen and the post history is there at the bottom and it's labeled Topic Review.

oh dang, i guess i never bothered to look down that far. but that's exactly what i was talking about. that's why you get paid the big bucks, (maybe not, but you are the administrator. thanks though!)
