Brewers renew Gallardo's contract
Injury-plagued '08 makes negotiations tricky in pre-arbitration
03/04/10 3:59 PM EST
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Unable to reach a compromise with right-hander Yovani Gallardo before Thursday's club-imposed deadline, the Brewers renewed his contract for 2010.
Per club policy, the Brewers did not announce terms of Gallardo's new contract. He earned $414,000 last season.
Gallardo, who turned 24 on... [Read More]

Joe Nathan will have an MRI done on his pitching elbow Monday in Minneapolis. Joe left the game with tightness in his elbow. Here is hoping there is nothing wrong. There were bone spurs removed from his elbow not to long ago. Hopefully nothing was missed!

The New York Yankees: The Champs are Here!
Last Season: The Yankees caught fire in the 2nd half of the season. Eventually taking the World F***ing Championship from the Phillies.
Offseason Moves:
The Yankees added Javy Vazquez, Curtis Granderson, Chan Ho Park, Marcus Thames, Randy Winn and Nick Johnson. They took away privileges from Ching Ming Wang, Brian Bruney, Phil Coke, Jose Molina, Melky Cabrera (Dry's soul went with him), Johnny Damon (could lead the return of captain caveman!), and Xavier Nady (or as Vasgerian puts it X. Nady!)
What does the new additions mean for the Yankees in 2010?:
Which Javy Vazquez will show up for the Yankees? The one from his first visit or the one from last season that was a under the radar Cy Young candidate in the NL? He should help the depth of the rotation considerably. Curtis Granderson... [Read More]

I remember watching an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond a few years ago. Raymond’s brother Robert was sitting at the table eating with the family when he asks them about whether they were excited about what was coming up in the next few days. They all started nodding and were in agreement that when pitchers and catchers report in February, the baseball season officially begins.
Spring training is right around the corner and this year’s pitchers and catchers will report on February 18th. It’s a time for many of the fans to pack up their things and kiss their boss goodbye as they take to the road with admirations of being the first to see whether Manny Ramirez cut his hair or if CC Sabathia has lost any weight. And for those of us who do not have the time or pleasure to breath the same Florida or Arizona air that these players are breathing; we find ourselves joining together on the internet all searching for player profiles and updates on who has arrived and what...
